Benefits

Effectiveness varies between individuals. A consultation is required to assess whether volumising and reshaping treatment is suitable for your concern, goals and individual circumstances. Depending on the area assessed and your individual treatment plan, it may help:

  • Address volume loss in selected areas
  • Support facial balance
  • Soften the appearance of selected facial contours
  • Support skin hydration
  • Support skin elasticity and overall skin quality, where clinically appropriate
  • 01/ INITIAL CONSULTATION

    WHAT TO EXPECT

    01/ INITIAL CONSULTATION

Your first appointment focuses on the feature or change you have noticed, such as reduced cheek support, lip proportion, chin or jawline balance, under-eye hollowing or folds around the mouth. We assess the underlying anatomy before discussing whether a volumising or reshaping procedure may suit your goals.

    During the appointment, we review:

    • The area you want assessed and the degree of change that may be realistic.
    • Facial structure, soft-tissue support, skin quality and movement at rest and during expression.
    • Your medical history, medicines, allergies, previous cosmetic procedures and any history of complications.
    • Factors that may require postponement, including pregnancy, breastfeeding, active infection, inflamed or broken skin, recent dental work or an upcoming event.
    • The proposed area, alternatives, risks, recovery, cost factors and whether a staged plan may be more appropriate.

You do not need to choose an area or procedure before you arrive. There is also no need to proceed on the same day if you would prefer more time to consider the information.

  • 02/ PROCEDURE

    02/ PROCEDURE

If you choose to proceed after assessment, the planned area is cleaned and may be marked. We discuss comfort measures before the practitioner uses a fine needle or cannula according to the area and agreed plan. You may feel brief pinching, pressure, stinging or firmness during the procedure.

    • Clinical photographs may be taken with your consent for planning and later review.
    • The practitioner works gradually and may pause to check symmetry, contour and tissue response.
    • Procedure time is often around 15–45 minutes once the plan is confirmed, depending on whether one or several areas are involved.

The lips, nose and under-eye area can feel more sensitive because the tissue is thinner or more mobile. We explain area-specific comfort and recovery considerations before starting.

  • 03/ RECOVERY AND AFTERCARE

    03/ RECOVERY AND AFTERCAREE

Swelling, tenderness, bruising and temporary unevenness can occur after a volumising or reshaping procedure. These effects may be more noticeable around the lips or under-eye area and should generally improve rather than intensify. The contour is easier to assess after early swelling has settled.

    General aftercare

    • On the day: avoid make-up or lipstick on the treated area, alcohol and unnecessary touching or pressure. Avoid smoking for at least four hours
    • For 48 hours: avoid sports, gym sessions and excessive physical activity.
    • For one week: avoid sauna, tanning beds and excessive sun exposure.
    • Do not massage the area unless TAEGA specifically instructs you to do so.
    • Ask TAEGA before booking facial massage, dental work, laser, radiofrequency, ultrasound, microneedling, skin peels or cosmetic tattooing. The recommended interval depends on the area and your recovery.

    Area-specific guidance

    • Lips: follow the instructions provided about hot food, hot drinks, lipstick and pressure on the area for about 24 hours.
    • Nose: avoid pressure from glasses, sunglasses or goggles for two weeks when this area has been treated, unless your practitioner advises otherwise.

Allow at least two to four weeks before an important event so swelling, bruising or tenderness has time to settle.
