- 01/ INITIAL CONSULTATION

WHAT TO EXPECT
01/ INITIAL CONSULTATION
Your Ultherapy Prime appointment begins with a personalised consultation to understand your concern, assess whether the procedure is suitable and plan the areas that may be addressed. You will have time to discuss your goals, expected changes, comfort preferences, recovery and any questions before deciding whether to proceed.
Medical history and suitability reviewWe review relevant medical history, current medications, supplements and previous cosmetic procedures. Please tell the practitioner about any past surgery, filler or implanted devices in or near the planned area.
The appointment may need to be postponed or adjusted if you have:
• Pregnancy or breastfeeding
• Active acne, infection or broken skin in the planned are
• Recent cosmetic procedures or injectables
• Previous filler in the area
• An implanted medical device
• A condition that may affect healing or recoveryThese factors do not always mean Ultherapy Prime is unsuitable. They help the practitioner decide whether additional assessment, a different procedure plan or a later appointment would be more appropriate.
Assessment and procedure planningThe practitioner assesses your concern rather than assuming skin laxity is the only cause. The review may consider:
• Skin quality and tissue thickness
• The location and degree of skin laxity
• Facial structure and volume changes
• Jawline definition
• Under-chin and neck anatomy
• Whether the concern is mainly skin-related or structuralWith your consent, clinical photographs may be taken to document the starting point and support a more meaningful review later.
The practitioner will then explain the proposed procedure zones, approximate line count, likely comfort level, temporary effects, expected recovery and realistic degree of change. Cost and appointment inclusions are also discussed before you decide whether to continue.
A procedure may be completed during the same visit when both you and the practitioner are comfortable with the plan. You can also take more time and arrange a separate appointment.
- 02/ TREATMENT APPOINTMENT

02/ TREATMENT APPOINTMENT
Prepatation
The planned area is cleansed to remove make-up, sunscreen and skincare residue. Guide markings may be placed over the skin, followed by ultrasound gel to support consistent contact between the handpiece and the procedure area.
Comfort options are discussed according to the area being addressed and your medical suitability. These may include topical numbing, slower pacing, short pauses or other measures recommended by the practitioner.
Focused ultrasound deliveryYou will usually be positioned comfortably in a reclined position. The practitioner places the Ultherapy Prime handpiece against the skin and uses real-time ultrasound visualisation to review the tissue before delivering energy in carefully planned lines.
Real-time visualisation helps the practitioner identify the intended tissue level and plan energy delivery around your individual anatomy.
What does Ultherapy Prime feel like?Ultherapy Prime is not described as pain-free because comfort differs between people, procedure areas and the depth being addressed. Most sensations occur briefly as each ultrasound line is delivered rather than remaining continuous throughout the appointment.
You may notice:
• Warmth
• Tingling or prickling
• Pressure
• A short, deeper sensation beneath the skinAreas with thinner tissue or areas closer to bone may feel more sensitive. The practitioner will check your comfort throughout the appointment and can pause or adjust the pacing when needed.
Please discuss any anxiety about discomfort or previous difficulty with energy-based procedures during your consultation. This allows comfort measures to be planned before the procedure begins.
How long does the appointment take?Procedure-only time is generally around 30–90 minutes, depending on the planned area and the number of ultrasound lines required.
A smaller brow or eye-area procedure may take less time. A plan involving the lower face, under-chin area and neck will usually take longer.
- 03/ Aftercare

03/ AFTERCARE
What to expect after Ultherapy Prime
Ultherapy Prime does not usually require planned social downtime, and many people return to work or usual daily activities on the same day. Temporary redness, warmth, swelling or tenderness can still occur while the skin and underlying tissue settle.

Aftercare may include:
• Use a gentle cleanser, moisturiser and sunscreen
• Avoid pressing, rubbing or massaging a tender area
• Wait until the skin has settled before applying make-up
• Do not apply make-up over broken or unexpectedly reactive skin
• Avoid introducing unfamiliar skincare products
• Follow the individual instructions provided by your practitionerDo not stop or change prescribed medication, anticoagulants or supplements unless advised by the clinician responsible for your care.
During the first 48 hoursContinue daily sun protection, particularly when the procedure area is exposed. Your usual skincare routine can generally resume once redness, swelling and tenderness have settled.
If the skin feels unusually sensitive, temporarily pause:
• Retinoids
• Exfoliating acids
• Physical scrubs
• Other strong active products
