- 01/ INITIAL CONSULTATION

WHAT TO EXPECT
01/ INITIAL CONSULTATION
Your QuantumRF appointment begins with a consultation and clinical assessment. This allows us to understand your concern and determine whether the procedure is appropriate for your anatomy, health and treatment goals.
You do not need to decide on QuantumRF before your appointment. We will explain your options without expecting you to proceed on the same day.
WHAT WE DISCUSS WITH YOU
We will ask about:
- The treatment area you would like assessed
- What change you are hoping to see
- The length of time you have had this concern
- Previous procedures or surgery
- Relevant medical conditions
- Prescription medicines and supplements in use
- Allergies
- Your healing or scarring history
- Upcoming travel, work or social commitments
- Your availability for post-treatment downtime
Please complete all information truthfully and accurately. This helps us assess suitability and plan your care appropriately.
HOW WE ASSESS THE TREATMENT AREA
Your practitioner will examine the skin, underlying tissue and surrounding anatomy. The assessment may include:
- The severity and distribution of loose skin
- Tissue thickness
- The location of underlying fullness
- Skin condition
- Existing scars
- Previous treatment changes
- Natural differences between each side of the area
We may also take clinical photographs with your consent. These images can help us plan treatment and review changes over time.
WHAT WE DISCUSS BEFORE YOU DECIDE
We will discuss the expected benefits, limitations, recovery and relevant risks. You will also be told:
- Whether QuantumRF may be suitable
- If another approach may be appropriate
- Who will perform the procedure
- The anaesthesia recommended for your procedure
- The steps involved in carrying out treatment
- How much time your appointment requires
- What you may notice afterwards
- How much time you may need away from work or exercise
- Your follow-up plan
- The total treatment cost
We will only proceed once your questions have been answered and you feel ready to provide informed consent.
- 02/ QUANTUMRF TREATMENT

02/ QUANTUMRF TREATMENT
Your QuantumRF procedure is planned according to the treatment area and the applicator selected. Preparation, anaesthesia, treatment time and post-procedure care can therefore differ between patients.
PREPARING THE TREATMENT AREA
Before the procedure, we will confirm your treatment plan and consent. The area will be cleaned and may be marked to guide treatment.
Clinical photographs may also be taken with your permission. These become part of your medical record and are stored according to the clinic’s privacy procedures.
COMFORT MEASURES AND ANAESTHESIA APPROACH
QuantumRF is a minimally invasive treatment option. The type of anaesthesia used depends on the treatment area and clinical plan.
Your practitioner will explain the following:
- What type of anaesthesia is proposed
- What you might feel throughout the procedure
- Whether you need assistance getting home after treatment
- What to prepare before visiting the clinic
- Which medications or supplements may need to be discussed beforehand
Do not stop prescribed medication unless the prescribing practitioner or your treating clinician has advised you to do so.
THE DELIVERY OF RADIOFREQUENCY ENERGY DURING TREATMENT
A small access point is created so the QuantumRF applicator can be positioned beneath the skin. The device then delivers controlled bipolar radiofrequency energy to the selected tissue.
Your practitioner adjusts the treatment approach according to the area, tissue thickness and clinical response. The goal is to support soft-tissue contraction while treating the planned area in a controlled manner.
Once treatment is complete, the access point will be checked. A dressing or compression garment may be applied when appropriate.
THE EXPECTED TIMEFRAME FOR YOUR VISIT
Appointment length depends on:
- The size of the treatment area
- The number of areas treated
- Preparation and anaesthesia
- The treatment plan
- How you may respond during treatment
We will provide an estimated appointment time after assessing the area you would like treated.
POSSIBLE CHANGES AFTER YOUR TREATMENT
Temporary effects can vary between patients. You may notice:
- Swelling
- Bruising
- Tenderness
- Redness around the access point
- Tightness or firmness
- Temporary changes in sensation
- Discomfort in the treated area
Your practitioner will explain which effects are expected for your treatment and which symptoms require clinical review.
- 03/ RECOVERY AND AFTERCARE

03/ RECOVERY AND AFTERCARE
Recovery after QuantumRF depends on the area treated, the procedure settings and how your body responds. You may need time away from exercise, certain activities or work.
We will give you written instructions based on your procedure. These personalised instructions take priority over general information on the website.
IMMEDIATELY AFTER TREATMENT
You may have a dressing over the treatment access point. A compression garment may also be recommended for some treatment areas.
We will explain the following before you leave:
- Aftercare guidance for the access site
- Timing for dressing removal or replacement
- Whether compression should be used after treatment
- How to manage temporary discomfort after treatment
- When you can shower after treatment
- If someone should accompany you home
- Which symptoms require a call to TAEGA
Plan adequate rest after your procedure. Do not massage or apply pressure to the area unless your practitioner specifically advises you to do so.
DURING THE FIRST 24–48 HOURS
Swelling, bruising, tenderness or tightness may become more noticeable during the early recovery period. This may not reflect the eventual result.
Continue following the instructions related to:
- Physical activity
- Exercise
- Heat exposure
- Alcohol
- Smoking
- Sleeping position
- Dressings
- Compression garments
- Pain relief
- Skincare and makeup
Contact TAEGA if your symptoms feel more severe than expected or continue to worsen.
DURING THE FIRST WEEK
Some swelling, bruising or sensitivity may remain during the first week. The treated area may also feel firm or temporarily uneven while the tissue settles.
Continue with the access-point care and compression instructions provided to you. Avoid massage, skin devices and other cosmetic procedures on the area until your practitioner confirms they are appropriate.
Your return to work and exercise will depend on the size and location of the treatment area. We will help you plan this before your procedure.
DURING THE FOLLOWING WEEKS
The appearance and feel of the area can continue to change as swelling reduces and healing progresses. Early firmness or differences between each side may settle gradually.
Do not judge the final result too early or schedule another treatment on the same area without clinical advice. Attend your planned review so we can assess healing and answer any questions.
REVIEW AND FURTHER TREATMENT
Your follow-up visit allows evaluation of:
- Healing of the access point
- Remaining swelling or bruising
- Skin and tissue response
- Changes in sensation
- Your progress compared with baseline photographs
- If additional review or monitoring is necessary
Session requirements vary depending on individual needs. We will review your response before discussing whether further treatment may be appropriate.
